PermaLink Copenhagen to host UN summit in 2009.03/26/2007 07:15 PM
Denmark
Denmark is to host the UN’s very important climate summit in 2009 when a “new Kyoto agreement” is to fall in place. At least 10,000 participants from the entire world are expected to attend the summit, which will be the most significant since the Kyoto meeting in 1997. Earlier this month the EU’s state and government leaders set the stage for making a new global climate agreement about the limitation of the emissions of greenhouse gas at the latest in 2009. The summit is imperative if the agreement is to be legal and effective when the Kyoto protocol will expire at the end of 2012, informs Ritzau.
