Sura Abdul-Razzak is a consultant with a cross-disciplinary background that reaches from engineering to public policy. This background has facilitated her ability to effectively identify and analyze the interdependencies between technology, the environment and society.

As a consultant at IndEco, Sura has done work on benchmarking customer care policies for Enbridge Gas Distribution Inc. and on environmental performance for the Association of Canadian Distillers. She is currently preparing a Best Practices report on residential water conservation programs for the Regional Municipality of York. She has also worked on several research and analysis projects including an assessment of the employment impacts of energy conservation in Ontario and an assessment of spray foam insulation in the application of new residential construction – a project which included energy simulation modelling.

Sura is involved in the development and delivery of training seminars on the National Pollutant Release Inventory for industry clientele and CDM training courses for several LDC employees. She is an advisor on an energy management program developed for the University Health Network where her work focuses on the areas of social marketing and employee engagement. Sura is also currently involved in the design, development and implementation of rain barrel sales events for the Regional Municipality of York.

During Sura’s years as an undergraduate student, she worked as an engineering intern for Atomic Energy Canada Limited in various branches relating to safety and regulatory analysis and compliance. She has held volunteer leadership positions in the non-governmental organization Engineers Without Borders Canada - an organization that works on international development issues - and continues her involvement at the Toronto Professional chapter. Sura has a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and Society and a Master’s degree in Engineering and Public Policy. Sura's diverse background has allowed her to develop her strengths in a well-rounded manner, and allows her to understand technical matters while seeing them in their larger environment.
