IndEco's University Health Network energy plan featured in ACEEE paperAn IndEco project report
IndEco's University Health Network energy management and engagement program is featured in
"Greening Work Styles: An Analysis of Energy Behavior Programs in the Workplace," a paper by Shui Bin, published by the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) in January 2012.
The paper "focuses on energy behaviour programs in the workplace, which are designed and conducted by building owners and renters to reduce building energy use through change in employees' attitudes and behaviours. The energy savings attributed to the reviewed energy behaviour programs vary from 4% (savings from a standalone behaviour program) to nearly 75% (savings from a comprehensive project in which a behaviour program is a component)."
The paper reviews five case studies and provides general strategies for the development of energy behaviour programs for the commercial sector. "TLC--Care to Conserve", designed and implemented by IndEco at the University Health Network of Toronto from 2007-2010, included social marketing and employee engagement as part of the comprehensive energy management program.
